Cogent Systems · the IQ platform
Legal intelligence, engineered for trust.
Research with citations you can check, practice management built around the matter, a curated legal corpus, and security monitoring that watches it all. Designed so your firm's data stays your firm's.
All four products are in development. We publish exactly what is built and what is planned.
Four products, one platform
Everything a firm runs on, built to work together.
How they fit
From a new matter to a signed-off draft, on one platform.
-
PracticeIQ opens the matter
The matter gets its permanent matter code and its own LexIQ workspace.
-
LexIQ researches and drafts
Cited answers from your own sources, and from public law once the CodexIQ corpus is released. Drafts are signed off before export.
-
CodexIQ supplies the law
Curated, versioned legislation, case law and commentary, to be supplied by entitlement (planned).
-
AegisIQ keeps watch
Security events from every layer; reversible containment on your own systems is planned.
The platform underneath
Security and control are the foundation, not a feature.
These are design commitments of the IQ platform. The roadmap shows which parts are built today and which are still to come.
-
Host it your way
Designed for cloud, on-premises or hybrid. Every layer can run on its own host, so you decide what stays inside your walls.
-
Authenticated on every call
Every request inside the platform says who it is for, and its credentials expire within minutes. No service trusts a request just because of where it came from.
-
TLS 1.3 only, post-quantum ready
The gateway refuses older protocols, services prove who they are to each other, and the gateway is ready for post-quantum encryption.
-
Your firm, your database, a key per firm
One database per firm and an encryption key for each firm, with client text being encrypted under it step by step. A request that cannot be tied to the right firm is refused.
-
Usage metered
Every request is metered today and other kinds of work are being added, so cost becomes visible per firm and per matter.
-
Australian data residency
The cloud profile is designed to keep firm data in Australia; no production hosting runs yet. Local modes keep it on your own server.
-
Local or hosted models
Each firm sets which models may see what. Material marked local-only never reaches a hosted model.
-
Controls tracked against the ISM
We track our controls against the Australian Government's Information Security Manual and the Australian Privacy Principles; we have not been independently assessed.
Where we are
Straight answers about status.
We are building in the open with firms in mind. No product is generally available yet, and we will not claim otherwise. Here is where each one stands today.
-
LexIQ Alpha 1
LexIQ is in alpha. It runs on our test server with fictitious firms and is not yet available to firms. Register for the beta and we will tell you when invited trials open.
-
PracticeIQ Alpha, in development
Matters, matter codes, confirmed deadlines, matter import and the link to LexIQ are built and running on our test server. Research, drafts and documents, members and roles, firm settings and month and week calendar views are also built on the test server. Mail linked to matters is planned for early 2027; calendar and mail sync is not yet connected to a real Microsoft 365 tenant. PracticeIQ is not yet available to firms.
-
CodexIQ In development
The curation workflow, numbered releases and consent records are built and running on our test server. Source discovery starts with one jurisdiction and one area of law, planned for December 2026. The corpus is not yet available.
-
AegisIQ In development
The foundations are built: a tamper-evident incident record, the first sensors and a way to measure every detection against replayed attacks. Detection rules are built and measured; they run live on our test server once the rule set is signed off. Firm notices, the monthly report and the file-scanning service are built and on the test server. Containment is planned for December 2026.
